Hello, Kiarra here, and welcome to my blog. Here’s a little piece of myself. I was born and raised in San Bernardino, California, but now live in Las Vegas, Nevada, with my husband, Jarrell Sr., and our two children Aubree and Jarrell Jr.
I met Jarrell on a dating app in May 2016. We married in September 2016 on my birthday. Aubree was born in 2017, and Jarrell Jr was born in 2020.
I suffer from a mental illness called bipolar depression, ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder), and OCD (Obsessive-compulsive disorder). I’ve been dealing with it on and off for years. For anyone who is reading this, you are not alone.
I am here to share my experience and help you become a better you. I’ve tried the natural route by changing my diet to vegan, plant-based, pescatarian, etc. I tried herbs, meditation, yoga, and it wasn’t working for me at the time, so I decided to talk to a therapist; get on medication to help with my mental illness.
The medication has its ups and downs, but I try and do what I can to not rely on it so much, so I still change from what I eat, exercise, get into the things I love, and more. Although I admit the medications do work to an extent, I try and move my body around, spend time with my kids, write and do things I love.
Before, I would sit around, be on my phone all day, be stuck in my mind, be emotional, try and push myself to do things and don’t and feel miserable. I felt trapped, and it was affecting me plus my family, so I had to find a solution, and I did, and I’m still taking it one day at a time to get mentally and physically well.
In the future, I wanted to become a registered dietitian, but I decided to change my major from nutrition to creative writing. I plan to go back for my nutrition degree one day, but I wanted to focus on writing since it’s another passion.
I love reading fiction, self-help, and educational books, and here is a list of books I’ve enjoyed reading. I love writing short stories; I used to write as a kid since it was a way to escape into my realm.
I felt this way since I always saw myself as the main character in whichever book I read. When it comes to things I love, I always have a great imagination.
