Introduction
Spring break was a beautiful time for our family to relax, slow down, and enjoy being together. But now that time it’s over, we’re easing back into our everyday routine.
As a mom, getting back on schedule can feel overwhelming. My husband balances school, work, and being a full-time father. I’m balancing therapy, psychiatrist appointments, healing, personal growth, and being a full-time mom and wife.
This week, we’re focusing on creating a simple rhythm that supports our family—mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Our Family Reset After Spring Break
After a week of relaxed schedules, we’re gently transitioning back into structure. At the same time, we’re focusing more on our health as a family.
Our kids are back in school, and my husband is returning to work after spending the week with us. While I’ll miss having him home, we’re getting back into a routine that helps everything flow more smoothly.
Focusing on Healthier Eating as a Family
One of our biggest priorities right now is improving our eating habits, especially after learning about our daughter’s high cholesterol.
We’re making small changes as a family:
- Cooking more meals at home
- Choosing lean proteins like chicken and turkey
- Adding salads and more vegetables to every dinner
- Cutting back on processed foods and fast food
This isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being more intentional and building healthier habits together.

Celebrating Small Wins (Proud Mom Moment)
This week is extra special because my son is receiving a Star of the Month award at school.
My daughter has also been doing very well. She loves reading chapter books, is quick with math, and even earned an award for her AR reading sessions.
Moments like this remind me that even during busy or stressful times, our kids are growing, learning, and thriving. It’s important to pause and celebrate those wins.
Time with my husband (Our Weekly Rhythm)
Even with busy schedules, we’re international about spending time together.
- Mondays & Wednesdays: On his class time, I’m at his school in the computer lab working on assignments from my therapist
- Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & Sundays: We visit the library together while the kids are at school or with family
These small moments help us stay connected, even during busy seasons.

My daily routine (Simple & Realistic)
Here’s what our weekday looks like now:
Afternoon Reset
- I go for a walk near my kids school before I pick them up
- After school, they play at the park for about 30 minutes
Evening Routine
- Homework time
- Dinner together
- Family walk in our neighborhood (30 minutes)
- Showers and wind-down time
- Free time until 8:30 PM bedtime
This routine helps us stay grounded without feeling overwhelmed.

Finding Balance Again
Getting back to routine after spring break doesn’t have to be perfect.
We’re taking it one day at a time, focusing on what matters most:
- Our health
- Our family connection
- Our personal growth
And most importantly, giving ourselves grace as we adjust.

Conclusion
If you’re also getting back into routine after spring break, just know—you’re now alone.
Start small, stay consistent, and create rhythm that works for your family.
